With a vast, and growing workforce, even the "smallest" HR tasks became unwieldy. Mary Beth Basham, Southern Star's Human Resources Coordinator explained "Verifications got to be very time consuming for me and were pulling me away from a lot of job duties that I needed to tend to more."
At the time, their verification processes, which are vital to employees, were overtly manual. She said "...employees had to print an internal form and sign it agreeing to release the employee's employment and income information. The form would be sent to me, I would send the form to our payroll department. Payroll would complete their portion of the form and return it to me to provide back to the employee."
"It was a very manual and tedious process," she continued. "It took up a significant amount of my time since none of the processes were electronic at the time."

Basham explained that one of the big benefits to the system is that it puts employees back in charge of their employment records. "With VerificationManager," she said "our employees are able to log-in and do the entire process online from their vehicle without needing to go to the office, print the form out, sign it, send it back to me, and so forth."
"The implementation was super, super easy," Basham explained. "The integration with UKG (our HRIS) was fairly easy and was just a matter of getting on a call with HostedHR and having HostedHR walk me through the steps needed."
When dealing with employee records, security is always a concern. As Basham explains with VerificationManager it wasn't a concern for long.
"Our IT security team checked out the software immediately. They are very tough to get through. They vet everything we do from a security standpoint with any software or any infrastructure that we may take place in and they have a very rigorous vetting process. If there are any concerns then we as a company are not allowed to integrate. With VerificationManager there were no reservations from the IT security team."
