TEC Equipment is a truck and trailer dealership group. Their corporate office, in Portland, Oregon, supports 28 dealership locations spread across 5 states. There are over 1,200 members of the TEC team backed by a "lean" HR staff.
TEC Equipment, like many companies, found that their success was dependent on speed. Of course, their reaction and delivery times were pivotal to their growth. But the speed of their HR team was what set everything in motion.
Alyssa Fuchsberger, an HR Business Partner for TEC Equipment, Inc. shared "TEC is a very fast moving organization. And we're growing." That growth she explained is occurring organically and through acquisitions. Both cases bring new employees with new needs.
"The (employment) verification process can be extremely time-consuming, especially with the number of employees TEC has and the fact that some of the verifications can be more involved with several phone calls," Fuchsberger explained. "Verifications became something that we as a company did not want to spend our time on because there were a lot more important, strategic things that we needed to focus on."
As the VOI (Verification of Income) and VOE (Verification of Employment) requests picked up, it became a priority for Fuchsberger and her team to find a new way to fulfill them. A more efficient verification process would benefit the employee and help the company maintain their speed of growth.
TEC turned to VerificationManager for the secure, automated processing of VOI and VOE requests.
Fuchsberger said "The service to employees was very important to us in making sure that verification requests were being taken care of in a timely and accurate manner."
Fuchsberger shared that one of the big questions she had when learning about the system was how other companies were using it. She shared "we wanted to see what other companies were using VerificationManager. Particularly if there are any other organizations similar to TEC using the software." She added "we were also curious to see if there were a variety of clients. It was very helpful to see there were many different types of companies utilizing VerificationManager."
VerificationManager's impact on TEC could be felt almost immediately in multiple ways. Fuchsberger summed up perhaps the biggest impact in two words: Time Savings."
That impact is having far reaching effects too as Fuchsberger explained "we actually had a former employee reach out to ask about the service that we used for verification requests because she remembered how simple and easy it was when we moved to VerificationManager."
